ABOUT US
Meet Tricia
(Jamaican-born, New York-trained, Pilates-obsessed) Growing up in Jamaica, I lived for sprinting—until a stubborn knee injury (patellar tendinitis) forced me to slow down. Life had other plans. In New York, while juggling university and reinventing my fitness routine, I pushed too hard (hello, long-distance running!) and reignited that old injury. Doctors and physiotherapists gave me tough love: “Listen to your body.” Pilates became my lifeline. My NYC teacher didn’t just fix my knees. She strengthened my inner thighs (adductors), outer thighs (abductors), quads, hamstrings, and—yes—my gluteus maximus (the “good butt muscles”!). We even tackled my pelvis mobility. Slowly, my back twinges faded. My posture improved. Pilates taught me a truth Joseph Pilates knew decades ago: The body thrives when we treat it as a connected whole. Today, I’m passionate about sharing this wisdom. Pilates isn’t a quick fix—it’s a lifestyle. Whether you’re unrolling a mat for 10 minutes in your sunlit garden or joining me for a class, it’s about building strength where it matters. That’s why I named my practice Pilates Plus—because Pilates isn’t a replacement for what you love. It’s the foundation that lets you hike, dance, chase toddlers, or garden without pain. Certified. Curious. Forever Learning. My classes blend anatomy, intuition, and a dash of Jamaican warmth. Let’s find balance—together.
What I Offer
- Pilates with Purpose: Sessions tailored to your body’s history (injuries, burnout, or simply modern-life aches).
- Athlete-Informed Recovery: No ego, no “no pain, no gain.” Just sustainable strategies to rebuild strength without reigniting old wounds.
- Mindful Momentum: A blend of precision Pilates and intuitive movement to help you feel steady, energized, and safe in your body again.
Whether you’re healing, transitioning careers, or craving a softer approach to fitness—I’ve been there. Let’s rewrite the rules, together.
“Strength isn’t how much you endure. It’s how wisely you listen.”

My Training
I received comprehensive classical training in the *Lolita San Miguel Method, which is deeply rooted in the legacy of Joseph Pilates. Lolita, a former New York ballerina, is the last surviving elder personally certified by Pilates himself. I also pursued contemporary training in the **Stott Pilates Method* by Merrithew. Moira Stott and Lindsay Merrithew collaborated with physical therapists and fitness professionals to refine the Classical method, integrating modern principles of exercise science and spinal rehabilitation. This blend equips me to offer a well-rounded approach to Pilates that caters to individual needs.
